    • What is ARTLOOK?
    • Artlook is a brand new online platform which bridges talented video editors with the millions of emerging digital camera and Smartphone owners who love to shoot video content.
When forming the company we made 2 big assumptions:
      1. Many people do not have the time and/or knowledge to edit all of their video clips into a professional looking moovie.
      and
      2. Automated video editing software solutions or mobile applications can never replicate the human eye for detail and feelings of emotion offered by an experienced video editor.
Born from these 2 theories, we saw the need for mooVmoo; a service which helps you to awaken all your invaluable video clips and gives you beautiful moovies to share with your family and friends, at home or online, at a cost that makes everyone smile for the birdie.
    • Where did you come up with the name?
    • The name ARTLOOK was born at one of the directors’ dining room tables, amongst many crayola-ed pages of brain winding, as the craziest example of how one can play with branding these days. The word “movie” is where it started, but somehow ended up somewhere altogether a little more farmyard.
    • How do I get started and how does this work?
    • We have tried to make mooVmoo as easy to use as possible – just click on UPLOAD or LOGIN and then simply;
      1. Select the video clips and photos you want to use
      2. Choose your music (or ours) as your soundtrack
      3. Leave your editor a few notes
      4. Upload your files
In the director’s notes section, please tell the video editor what the title of your moovie should be (e.g. Summer Bash), and mention any other information you feel is important (e.g.: Be to sure to include the clip where the Giraffe walks up to our car window” or “don’t include the part where dad sings”).
Our talented pool of video editors will then take over and work their magic on your moovie.
    • How long will it take mooVmoo to make a mooVie?
    • We aim to deliver a final mooVie to you within five (5) working days after your payment has been processed. Here is how the process works in 3 simple steps:
      1. one of our talented video editors will be assigned to create your mooVie. They will carefully review each and every video clip you have uploaded, so as to determine the sequence, content and ‘flow’of your video.
      2. they will begin the professional and creative editing process, matching the soundtrack to be used with the video clips and images.
      3. once the mooVie has been created, we will review and then post the final mooVie on your private mooVmoo page and email you to tell you it is ready for downloading.

    • Why will my final mooVie be 1, 3 or 5 minutes in length?
    • There are a number of reasons for this, the main one being that numerous online surveys have shown individuals attention spans tend to drop off after 2 minutes. A human’s ability to focus is somehow subconsciously programmed for somewhere around that amount of time.
For example, music singles and videos are rarely longer than 2 or 3 minutes. And have you ever wondered why the length of moovie trailers always tends to be under 2.5 minutes?
We are all familiar with YouTube and Vimeo, and guess the average video length of the most popular ones there?
So to answer the question: the duration of the final moovies was decided for all these reasons, and the simple fact that we think any story can be told in less than 5 minutes.
However if you have some particular video clips that you feel require extended viewing, you can insert this in the Director’s Notes or email us at info@moovmoo.com.
    • Can I have a longer mooVie created?
    • The short answer is YES.

There are many reasons as to why the moovies we create for our customers are 3-5 minutes in length, however should your needs be greater, just drop us a line at info@moovmoo.com and we’ll be happy to tailor a quote for any job too big or too small.
    • Can I change my mooVie title or soundtrack after it has been created?
    • The short answer is no.
However, if you spot any spelling mistakes (within 10 days of the moovie being delivered) in any of the title slides, we will correct this for you at no extra charge.
    • Can you give me some video recording advice?
    • Yes we can, and please enjoy our free video tutorials available under our tips & tricks section of the website, but to save you the trip, here’s the most important 3:

Firstly, for best results we recommend to use full HD (High Definition) recording at 720p or 1080p, with a video clip set to at least 1280×720 pixels at 24fps (frames per second)

Secondly, we also recommend recording your video in best native format for viewing, which is 16:9 (widescreen).

Thirdly, when you record in landscape mode on your phone, this is close to the native resolution and gives the highest quality. When you record in portrait, our editors could crop the top and bottom of the image to get the correct format – this avoids those annoying videos with black sidebars that you see sometimes and creates a better video viewing experience.
    • What is your policy on copyright?
    • You must have the rights to any video clips, images, or music files you upload to mooVmoo.

We absolutely respect the rights of copyright holders to images and music. Our policy is to respond to any notices of alleged infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), which may include removing content from our servers. We reserve the right to terminate your account in accordance with our Terms of Service.
    • Do I retain copyrights and other legal rights to my mooVie?
    • Yes. You retain all the rights to your content. mooVmoo assumes no ownership over the material you upload to us nor the final moovie we create. You are the boss!
    • What is the mooVmoo refund policy?
    • All fees paid to mooVmoo are non-refundable.
We will of course deal with any complaints and problems with the upmost scrutiny and if for any reason you are unable to use or view your final moovie, please contact info@mooVmoo.com where our team will endeavor to assist you.
    • Do you have an environmental policy?
    • Our environmental policy is waste not, want less, and fly high. By minimizing our use of commercial real estate mooVmoo is trying to make its footprint (hoof mark) and impact as low as possible on the community around us. As directors we try to keep as much of the company online and virtual rather than producing the printing pulp of yesteryear. We’re still working on a glass plane that can fly at 70,000+ feet – on wine.
    • How can you provide the service so affordably?
    • Our business model is that our highly skilled editors are based all over the world, from log cabins in Canada to palm beaches in India. We have therefore shaved the costing down as tight as we can so as to maximize the share taken by the real worker – the editor, and minimize the cost swallowed by maintaining the business – the office.
    • Why do you charge by the minute and not by data volume (MB/GB)?
    • The reason our pricing is by the minute of footage uploaded, is because we believe it is fairer for the user, for the editor, and indeed everyone.
If we charged by data volume it is very hard to offer everybody the same price, as different handsets record in different resolutions and have various different settings.
      Please see table below:
Device Resolution size Size: MB per min of recording
      Ipad 4/Air/Mini 1080P – HD ~60mb
      iPhone 5/5S/5C/6/6+ 1080P – HD ~130mb
      iPod Touch 5 1080P – HD ~60mb
      Gopro 24FPS 1080P – HD ~222mb
      Gopro 4K 2160p -4K ~336mb
      Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, S3 1080P – HD ~150mb
      Samsung Galaxy S5 2160p -4K ~500mb
      Sony Xperia Z2 2160p -4K ~500mb

In addition, the bitrate (size of the file per sec) can vary based on what your shooting, for example a sheet of paper will take up a lot less mb/gb than a flamenco dancer clip. There is no way to tell what the exact size of a file will be, however time is a constant, and thus fairer for everyone.
    • How do I change or delete my account?
    • Go to my profile page on your account. From this page, you can view your account, view your order history, and change your personal information.

You can also delete your mooVmoo account by clicking on delete account button inside this page, but I’d see a doctor first.
    • How can I start to work for you?
    • You can start by sending us an example of your show-reel. A friendly email is all else that we require for now. If we like your style we’ll contact you in relation to a further interview and online testing.
    • What kinds of video formats are supported?
    • You can pretty much upload any video clip to us as we support the most commonly found formats and codecs for all modern cameras and Smartphones:

      AVI, MPEG1/2/4, MP4, MOV, H264, 3GP (3GPP), 3G2 (3GPP2).

You can upload between 10 and 60 minutes worth of clips (circa 1-10 GB of data) for each and every moovie, however please be understanding as to the speed of your own bandwidth connection, as upload times may vary.
    • What kinds of image formats are supported?
    • If you wish to have some still images or photos inserted into your moovie, you can upload JPG and TIFF formats.

For best results in your moovie, we recommend that photos are sized to 1024×768 pixels or greater before uploading, with a 4:3 or 3:4 landscape or portrait aspect ratio. Images in other aspect ratio’s are perfectly usable, however they may appear zoomed out or cropped in the final moovie we create for you.

Please note we accept no more than 10 still images per moovie.
    • Why is the file upload process taking so long?
    • The speed at which your files upload to mooVmoo sadly does not depend on us – it depends on your Internet speed (bandwidth) and the services offered by your Internet service provider. It may also have something to do with your sister being on chat roulette in the other room.
    • How can the uploading process be faster?
    • Video files created on your Smartphone or HD camera can be quite large. We recommend doing your file upload to mooVmoo when you are connected to a fast WiFi or 4G network (do make sure you are aware of any data limitations your internet provider may have set).

Depending on how much data you are uploading to mooVmoo, and above all on the speed of your internet connection, it could take from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours, in which case you might want to plan uploading files overnight (when bandwidth is usually better as most other people are asleep!) or while you are going to be away from your computer.
    • Can I contact my editor directly?
    • For the moment we have excluded this option as knowing the process as we do, we feel that once the customer has made all the big decisions (footage/music/titles) the editor is often best left alone to create his/her masterpiece without distraction. Should you have something urgent that needs to be transmitted however we will happily oblige at: info@mooVmoo.com
    • What if my upload is not complete/interrupted?
    • If for any reason your upload was interrupted or didn’t complete, please log back in to mooVmoo.com > my profile > my mooVies. Inside your profile locate the job you tried to upload in my mooVies.

Verify which video clips have been already uploaded by clicking on “see uploaded files”.

Click on resume upload to continue with this process selecting only the files that have not been previously uploaded.

Should you have problems with this just drop us a line at: info@mooVmoo.com
    • Who can see my mooVie? How do I make my mooVie private?
    • When we edit your video, it is delivered to your “my mooVies” section on your profile. This means that unless you choose to download and share the video file, nobody can discover or view it. It is totally private.

If you would like to make your mooVie public, and go global, simply download the file and publish on your favorite social media platform.
    • Are you in a rush?
    • If you need to meet an urgent deadline and would like your video to be edited by one of our professional editors in as short a timeframe as possible, just email us and we’ll be happy to see what we can do to speed up the process.

Remember, there will be one factor we cannot control, your Internet speed, so be patient during your initial upload files process.
    • What if I don’t like the mooVie?
    • If you don’t like your mooVie, that is obviously something of great concern to us here at mooVmoo. We check each and every one before we release them to the end user, and would ask that you appreciate that our editors can only cut the footage that they are given, however we are always open ears as to any dissatisfaction, so please email us immediately at: info@mooVmoo.com
    • Why did I not receive an email notification that my mooVie was ready?
    • The notification email may have wound up in your spam folder. If you aren’t sure whether your mooVie has been completed, or if you wish to check the status, simply log into mooVmoo website and view the ‘my mooVies’ section of your profile page.
    • How many times can I download my mooVie?
    • You will be allowed to download your final moovie as many times as you wish during a 3 month period. You can save the moovie file on your own hard drive or share it with friends online.
    • What happens to my mooVie after I have downloaded it?
    • Your final moovie will be posted inside your private mooVmoo profile page and will be available for viewing and downloading as many times as you want for a period of 3 months. After 3 months access to the moovie file will be restricted and available only upon special request. We will email you before removing it from our server to make sure you’ve downloaded it elsewhere.

What happens if I don’t like the soundtrack selected by my editor?

Basically you are out of luck. We encourage all our customers to upload their favourite music which you have to ensure is properly licensed. Otherwise you just select the ‘genre’ of music you like and our video editors will select an appropriate royalty-free music from our music library.
    • Can I resell my mooVies?
    • Legally speaking you can sell any moovie created by mooVmoo to any one, however it gets a little tricky when dealing with the music rights. We have licensed music that can be shared, however once resold or profiteered from, you are responsible for ensuring your use is in compliance with applicable laws and permissions, i.e. you are paying the author his cut.

You must own the rights to any images, video clips, or music files you upload. If you plan to sell or distribute moovies with copyrighted music, we encourage you to buy songs and their appropriate license from sites such aswww.jamendo.com or www.premiumbeat.com
    • How do I share, post, or email my mooVie?
    • Once your moovie has been edited, you will be able to download it from your mooVmoo profile page on our website. This moovie will be in a common format (H.264, MPEG2/4) used by Facebook, Vimeo, and most other social networks.
    • What kinds of music format are supported?
    • You can either upload your own song to be used as the soundtrack of your mooVie, or you can select a genre of music you like and our video editors will do the rest.

If you do upload your own music file, we accept MP3 files and recommend a minimum bit rate of 128kbps and a sampling rate of 44.1kHz.

Certain music files however are DRM protected (depending on their source) and may not be supported. There is no way around this unless your name is Stevie Wonder, or you own the rights to the specific track. sorry! (please see iTunes and Amazons privacy terms)

Please note that if you choose to post your mooVie on social networking sites, some may not play the soundtrack unless the music you provided had been properly licensed in the first place. This whole area of music licensing is quite complex, so our easy solution is to just select your soundtrack from our fully licensed bank of tunes in the upload section.
    • My own music won’t upload to mooVmoo. Why?
    • If you are having difficulties uploading your own music files to mooVmoo.com, it’s probably because they are DRM protected tracks, which means they have licensing restrictions put on them by the copyright owner. You will need to contact them directly to overcome this, or else start writing your own!)

    • Can I use more than 1 song in my mooVie?
    • Generally with mooVies being an average of 2-5 minutes it is better to have just 1 song as the soundtrack to the mooVie, but you can of course upload a couple of extra songs if you so wish, through the uploading page section. Remember to provide any additional details regarding songs in the Directors Notes (e.g. play a certain song at the start, another at the end, etc).

If you don’t have your own songs, no problem – we have our own bank of licensed music that your editor has full access to at no extra charge.
    • Why doesn’t an entire song play in my mooVie?
    • First have a look at how long your song is. Remember that your moovie length is determined by our video editor and will very much depend on the quality of the original video footage, and the number of images in your video. On average our final moovies play for between 2 to 5 minutes and so the soundtrack will match accordingly.
    • What happens if I don’t like the soundtrack I have selected?
    • Sorry to be crude, but basically you’re fresh out of luck. We encourage all our customers to pay attention to their uploaded music which you have to ensure is properly licensed. Otherwise you just select our royalty-free music from our music library within our website. There is a preview button for you to listen before making your final decision, and we’re pretty sure there’s something for the most prickly of ears in there somewhere.
    • Can I keep peoples voices or dialogue in my mooVie?
    • Of course you can. Often our editors will pick up on this themselves and dip the music volume accordingly for the special bits, but in case there’s a scene or clip that you want specifically highlighted, just mention it in the director’s notes section of the upload process. No problemo!
